Her ancestors came from Kells, Parton & Balmaclellan, Kircudbright. Lovely names, lovely places. The last Farm was called Nether Dullarg. Now there's a name to conjure with

According to the 1851 census, my Angus family were living at a place called Stickey female dog, near Darlington.

I have tried but can't locate it or anything like it to try to work out what it really should say!

I like these road signs for Dildo on the south eastern arm of Dildo in Newfoundland. It is about
a hundred kilometres west northnest of St Johns.  Residents of the town are known as Dildonians.

There's a pub in Overton near Morecambe in Lancashire called "The Golden Ball".  Of course this is known locally as "The Brass Knacker".  Lovely little pub with the added attraction that it is often cut off at high tide, so plenty of out of hours drinking there!
