I am 66 and where I live is on my profile.
I agree with Linda, it would be helpful to know which country at least, 8)
I think this has been mentioned before.
I cant see that a county/country  in your details could compromise your identity.  Kooky :-\

I fail to see how knowing how old someone is,  in any way impacts

Joy there are some really young people - I know 1 who is only 13. Sometimes the way the question or statement is written is really nieve. By looking at the age it helps understand why they've written like a school kid.  ;D

Oh and I am a female ted born in 1967 in England but have lived in Australia since I was 5. Most of that is on my profile.  ;)

Why o why do a lot of[most] people dont put their age on their profile.

Hi ,
simple reason:It's the same reason why I don't give out my  name, full  birth date and my exact address  on the internet.
Fraud. weirdo's , nutters just to give a few of many, many reasons  -for privacy reasons. I think some people give out far too information , it's so easy to trace to an exact street and house number given some of the info some people post  .

Besides I  really don't understand why knowing a person's  age will help others to help you on here . I've known  really naive 60 year olds, whilst I've known some real worldly kids. Age has nothing to with a Person's ability with genealogy.  I have  what country that I am in my profile for a good  reason , but  I certainly don't put my exact location such  street address ,neither will I put my age .
I never have  asked the ages of anyone on here and never will.I have never needed to know for any research I've ever done for anyone here. I  think it's far  too personal  and rude to ask others that. If they want to give that information to you in the first place  they will, but you shouldn't ask for it
" I know 1 who is only 13. Sometimes the way the question or statement is written is really nieve. By looking at the age it helps understand why they've written like a school kid.
" quote

I  also think it is  not a very good idea for anyone under 18 to broadcast their age  on their profile especially a 13 yr old . Do you know how many children have been groomed and duped by adults. It is dangerous.

Kind regards
