Hello everyone,
Just looked at rootsweb after a long absence from the site. I have a large dB on the Roberts family and recently exchanged data with Rob Day. William Roberts married Mary Day in 1848. It was a 2nd marriage for both of them. Williams' first wife was Anne Jenkons but she died on 9th May 1848 during the birth of her son Joseph.
On the marriage cert, Williams father was shown as David, a farmer. There are several David Roberts in the 1841 census and another that died in Narberth area in 1839. It is not unusual for the father on a marriage cert to be shown as alive when he is dead!! I have a photo of Williams' grave in Molleston Cemetary taken last summer. Also a few more  grave photos of the Roberts family.
My great grandfather was William Roberts, son of Nathan/Nathaniel the brother of Lot. William had 8 children with Anne and 3 with Mary. Anyone wishing to exchange info then please contact me

Re - WILLAIM ROBERTS born around 1801.
I have confusion regarding birthplace as:
1841 census - birthplace shown SCOTLAND (but should be Ireland surely)
1851 census - birthplace shown Ireland Pembs?
1861 census - birthplace shown Ireland R.N.

Anyone know any more on him?

I took a close look at the 1841 Census sheet under magnification and I'm sure it is a "loopy" I in the place of birth column. I agree with 1851 and 61 locations but the confusion is that 1871 shows pob as Jeffreston

there was an I for Ireland on the copy of the 1841 census I looked at. The Pembrokeshire in 1851 seems to come from the enumerator having dittoed Pembs for everyone on the page.

Miles, Ann from 1841 was born in Pembrokeshire.

Thanks Porkpie - I missed that 1871 one off sorry.

Well he did marry his first wife in Jeffreston (if I've been told correctly) and he's the only one on the 1871 census page that says Jeffreston.

Wonder if he's just been to Ireland (or his dad?) - and why have Ireland R.N. listed in 1861?
