This date does help. Do you know if there are valuation records for Garvagh in PRONI post 1859?

Cyclamen,
                 The Griffith Revision Books start in 1864 and are supposedly updated each year to show changes of tenant or immediate landlord. In some books the changes are made in coloured ink which represents the year of change. The colours have faded with time making some difficult to decipher the year. In many the year of change is also noted. PRONI will not re-open until the end of March.

                One thing which I should have mentioned is that the revision are arranged by Electoral District so you will need to know which DED your townland is in.

In his will of 1837 William Patton of Culmore, Kenaght 'devised and bequeathed his landed property in Garvagh' to his son. I am trying to find where this land was. Would anyone have access to the tithe applotment records for Garvagh?

Is this the same William Patton who had 500 acres at Tamney in Donegal and died on 29 June,1837
and was buried at Rosnakill on 1 July, 1837? Do you, Cyclamen, or anyone else, have access  to
his will as you refer to it. If so, would you please refer to any other details in the will to ascertain
whether he is the same person or not. William Patton of Croaghan House, Tamney is an ancestor
of mine.

Sorry I don't think it is the same man. The William Patton I am interested in was from Lower
Culmore, Newtownlimavady, Co Londonderry.

Rereading these posts I should also have said that the son's name was Robert Patton.

Thank you for such a prompt response. My chap did not have a son called Robert, so that
is conclusive!  How or where did you come across the Londonderry will?
