CATLOW Brickwall
« on: Thursday 03 February 11 17:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

During my research of Catlow Colne area I've come to a bit of a dead end.

Mary Catlow b1857/1858 Daughter of Isaac Catlow b 1817 I can't find Marriage records for her. I believed that she married a James Ashworth Delaney b 1858 but some else who is also researching who is related to the Delaney side says not.
We have both come to a dead end on this.
There are many Mary Catlows is various guises (Mary A Catlow, Mary Catlow Mary Alice Catlow.) listed on Ancestry but we can't seem to find much information. The other researcher has found & confirmed that her Mary Alice Catlow is correct. On Mary Alice Catlow wedding cert, it shows her father as a John Catlow.
I have A john Catlow but he is Isaacs father. Is it possible its the same Mary, but on her wedding cert it had John (her grandfather) due to her real fathers absence?
Any help or pointers in the right direction would be most useful.

Any more info needed please ask & I'll try to post it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi

You have posted on the one name studies board but your message reads as though you are asking for help - is this correct?

If so - this needs to be moved to the Lancashire board

The IGI Beta website has this entry

16.10.1875 at Barrowford - Mary Ann Catlow 24 to John Rushton 23

Fathers were Isaac Catlow and William Rushton

https://beta.familysearch.org/

I will ask the moderator to move it for you

There are two possible birth entries for her -

Ap/may/Jun 1858
Burnley
Mary Catlow

Jul/Aug/Sep 1858
Burnley
Mary Ann Catlow

(no trace of a poosible with Alice as middle name)

In 1861 when age 3 I see she is just Mary on the census, not that that means anything

The 1861 has 2 entries for a Mary Catlow with a father Isaac - the marriage I found above appears to relate to the Mary Ann b Barrowford 1852

Are you researching the Mary b Colne?  No birthplaces given in your post
