Hi Merl

Seems there was some confusion over his name. The SMH and Barrier Miner called him Maurice but WA papers called him Michael.

WA deaths did not have a Maurice FITZGERALD in 1912 - only a Michael FITZPATRICK.
1912  FITZPATRICK MICHAEL
WELLINGTON district #32

I got the impression from the earlier train incident that Maurice was mentally ill so circumstances in 1912 would not be surprising. One problem though was the reported age of this Maurice/Michael FITZ*.

Hi Essie
I have searched and can't find any death notices or funeral for the Maurice who was killed 6 Feb 1912, as you said there is just the michael fitzpatrick.  I think I need to go to the Batty Library and do a search of the newspaper there.
It has me baffled as a 30 year old man is reported killed by a train, they must have buried him and had a funeral and death notice.
I will let you know when I get an answer
Cheers
