Marriage in Oregon or California
« on: Wednesday 02 February 11 16:09 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the marriage of Dr Henry D'Arcy Power to Florence V. (surname unknown). Florence graduated from the Willamette  University Medical Department in Salem in 1893 but I am unsure if she was married at that time but it is most likely that she married in  1894 by which time she had moved to Sacramento.
She and her husband  later both had private practices in San Francisco.

Florence was born in 1868 in California and died in 1913 in San Francisco.  Henry D'Arcy Power was born in 1857 in Germany (British subject) and died in 1939 in England.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can access the list of the Willamette 1893 graduates?  Any help greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

So people can see what was found previously on this couple:  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442632.0.html

Maybe you could try contacting the University archives:  http://library.willamette.edu/archives/

It appears Florence died in 1918, not 1913:  http://www.rootschat.com/links/0bmx/

Thanks Shellyesq for the suggestions.   Since my  original posting I have found that Dr Henry D'arcy Power left San Francisco in 1923 and spent 10 years in Germany before returning to the UK where he died in 1939. Whilst in Germany he "married" wife number 5.  Dr Power was not in touch with his 2nd wife, Christiana, or his children and Christiana remarried in 1918 believing him to be dead/officially missing.

I know from family papers left by Christiana that she and Dr Henry were not divorced.  Hence the fact that I would very much like to know if he did go through a marriage ceremony with wives 3, 4 and 5 and how he described his marital status on the certificate(s) if any.

Shellyesq - sorry typing error.  Florence did die in 1918.

I now know Florence's details are Florence Vida Botsford but still unsure whether she married in Portland, Oregon or Sacramento/San Francisco, CA
