Hi keyboard86

Have you been able to find Eden/Edith and Edward in 1861 I can't.

I do believe they are the same person. Who the witnesses were to her marriage, Kenda1?

Not that it's any consolation Evie, but I've been trying to find them in 1861 too - as I'm sure have many others - I wonder where on earth they were ?

I think they were either missed off from the original or weren't enumerated at all. Had a wander round West Witton and no sign of any of the family.

Eden/Edith must have been known as Edith later in her life if she was the one that died in 1915.

Sorry to join in so late but I have just seen this thread.

I think that I have a (fairly remote) link to this Graham family.

William Graham married Jane  Pratt May 10th 1810 at West Witton.
They had 8 children , all at West Witton.

Their 7th child, Edward Graham bap June 15th 1828 at West Witton and buried March 21st 1892 at West Witton.
He married Eden (Edith ) Harker born c 1828 at West Witton and buried June qtr 1915 at West Witton.
That marriage was March qtr 1854 at West Witton.

They had 9 children, of which Edward Graham born c 1857 at Swinathwaite, was their 3rd child.

This Edward married my 4th cousin Elizabeth Thwaite Jan 7th 1880 at Aysgarth.
They had 11 children and moved to farm at West Burton.

Edward Graham died at West Burton  March 3rd 1921 aged 63 and was buried at Aysgarth.
His wife Elizabeth (Thwaite) died Feb 1st 1930 aged 74 at West Burton and was buried with him at Aysgarth.

Edward Grahams wife, Elizabeth Thwaite bap Aug 17th 1856, was the 8th child of John Thwaite and Hannah (Pickard) of Howe Syke Bishopdale.
They married Oct 25th 1837 at Aysgarth and had 10 children.

That Thwaite line goes back to Rowland Thwaite of Helm born c 1608.
Percival, Hird, Heseltine, Wilson,  Horn(e), Thwaite, Storey, Iveson, Metcalfe, Dinsdale and Sunter and the farms and families of Bishopdale.
