Parishes near Barking?
« on: Tuesday 01 February 11 19:03 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I'm trying to locate a baptism record for an Emily Lambert born c.1816 in Barking, Suffolk. I haven't been able to find her in the Barking parish registers however, and was wondering if anyone who has a little more knowledge of the area could suggest any nearby parishes where she might have been baptised?

Thanks in advance,
Anna

Hi Anna

I have had a look at the Suffolk Burial Index for clues the following might be of use

Burials in Barking churchyard of LAMBERT's who had resided in Barham & in Darmsden.  There are lots of Lambert burials in surrounding villages as well Baylham, Bramford, Gt Bricett.

Do you have any more info on her?

If the family were non-conformist possibly baptised or welcomed into the chapel at Stowmarket?

There is a note of William Lambert farming in Barking in 1844 (White's).

Pat ...
