Hello!,
Can anyone direct me to a source of 19th century detailed maps. One of my ancestors lived in "Land Farm" Westhoughton but I cannot find just where this was situated.
Thanks!

Hi,
It was just south of Hindley Road. Go to
www.old-maps.co.uk
and type in the coordinate boxes 364780 and 403940.
Wait until it loads.
At the right hand side choose the 1893 map.
Wait until it loads and then zoom in.
You should see Land farm marked if you scroll down from the writing that says Hindley Road.
Regards,
Mo
