help with Adgey family

The grandfather of my ggrandmother Annie Officer is David Adgey of Dunrod, Tullyrusk, Antrim.  Annie's mother was Margaret Ann Adgey.  Margaret Ann is the eldest daughter of David Adgey and Agnes McCullagh.  From the church baptism records of the Dundrod Presbyterian Church the baptisms of some of her siblings can be found - Agnes b 20/8/1830, Archibald McCullagh b 3/5/1832, Martha b 9/3/1833 and David b 25/8/1843.  All the above baptisms have parents as David Adgey and Agnes McCullagh.  Margaret Ann's baptism has not been found.   From the marriage register the following children can be found - Rebecca m William Grahan 4/9/1860, Sarah m Alexander Martin 12/2/1863 and Mary m Alex Rodgers 21/4/1864 and also Martha m John Thomson 23/3/14855.  All the marriage records show the father as David Adgey.  As is the case the mother of the bride is not mentioned. 
Where my queries start is that the will of David Adgey dated 8/6/1871 (d 23/7/1871) bequeaths lands which he holds in Knockcairn and Dunrod to his beloved wife Ann Adgey not Agnes as mentioned in the baptisms of 4 of the children.   All of the daughters are mentioned.  Archibald has immigrated and died (1853) in Geelong Aus.  David is not mentioned.
Query 1.  Is Ann the same person as Agnes, or has Agnes died and David re-married.   Does anyone have access to any parish records that could shield any light on this.  Perhaps the baptism records of Rebecca, Sarah and Mary can be found.
Query 2.  As there is no mention of David in the will has he died or immigrated before his father's death in 1871.

Any help or comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

Ann/Nancy/Hannah/Agnes are interchangeable so David might have had just the one wife but it's impossible to say one way or another based soley on the details you have so far.

I don’t think you can draw any conclusions from the will about David’s whereabouts. He could be dead, or he could be doing well in America, or his father might have chosen to cut him out of the will for any number of reasons.  Being abroad wouldn’t exclude him from the will. I have seen plenty of Irish wills where money and land has been left to a son or daughter living abroad.

I saw a will recently where 2 elder sons, a surgeon and a lawyer were not given any bequests, but other less successful siblings were. I suspect that the father may have felt that his 2 elder sons were financially independent and so didn’t merit a mention in the will. Or perhaps he had provided for them separately in some other way before his death. But who knows? They were both still alive, that's for sure.

Hello,

I am the great,great,great granddaughter of Mary (nee Adgey)and Alexander Rodgers. Their son was Paul Rodgers who married Margaret Wallace and one of their sons was named David Adgey Rodgers(my great grandfather who went to Canada in 1923). I know where Mary Adgey and Alexander Rodgers are buried.

      21 Apr 1864 Alexander Rodgers married Mary Adgey in Dundrod Presbyterian Church, Lisburn District. The fathers were Paul Rodgers and David Adgey.

That is correct. As I stated in my post I can only go forward with the family from Marys marriage to Alexander Rodgers. I have listed their son Paul Rodgers and his wife Margaret  (nee Wallace). Paul and Margarets son was David Adgey Rodgers and he was my great grandfather.
I am actually quite interested in the Adgey side of the family too. That is why I posted.
