West Street Chapel, Hull - COMPLETED

Does anyone have or could find any information about West Street Chapel?
I've found West Street in Hull but cannot find anything about a Chapel there. A lot of my Scotter ancestors were christened there according to familysearch but I seem to have drawn a blank on it, particularly what denomination it was
Thanks

Hi, I believe West Street Chapel was a Primitive Methodist Chapel opened in April 1819.
There's a very short description of it contained within an extract from 'Bulmer's Gazetteer (1892), A History of Kingston on Hull' posted on GENUKI at
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/ERY/Hull/HullHistory/HullHistory9.html
. (It's a long article, so best to search the page for
West Street Chapel
).
The Hull History Centre has copies of some of the chapel records available on microfilm. You can search their online cataloge at
http://lib3.adir.hull.ac.uk/dserve/search.htm
to see what's available. (Use
West Street (Primitive)
as the search key).
Regards, Ian.

West Street Primitive Methodist Chapel was on Mill Street.
Built 1819, Closed 1910 and destroyed by bombing in 1941, hope this helps
