I am trying to trace more details of Alfred Gibson Jalland and his wife, Jeannie Josephine. Mrs Jalland inherited a fortune following the death of James Poole Wagstaff, 1903. National newspapers record the inheritance dispute and the bigamous marriage which had taken place in London. I am a descendant of the Wagstaff family in Bedfordshire.

http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&d=TS19070129.2.9 - don't know if you've see this article which does have some details about where they were - if you have trouble finding Alfred in some records it seems you should look in Scotland.
