You may have had contact with someone and know what I know by now. My husband is a descendant of Colin (Colen) 1768-16 Aug 1842 and Agnes Lamont 3 Nov 1771-16 Jul 1865. They had 3 boys that I know of John Byrne aka Jack 17 Sept 1797 - unknown d, Archibald 3 Apr 1804 - (no sure when he died, but I think he went to the USA) and Duncan 1805 - 1850. My husband is a descendant of Duncan who married Catherine Leitch 8 Dec 1799 Campbeltown, Argyle, Scotland - 10 Mar 1867 Bathurst, NSW, Australia. She must have gone to Australia with her 3 sons who were all born in Scotland. John 1826 Greenock, Renfrewshire,Scotland - Aug 1877 Williamstown, Victoria, Australia, Duncan John 1 May 1828 Greenock - 14 July 1914 Bathurst, NSW, Australia and Robert Leitch 1833 Scotland -1890 Melbourne, Australia he married Margaret Carey.
Duncan John Lamont is my husbands g g grand father, on 19 Sept 1855 he married his first cousin Mary Elizabeth Leitch 1827 Liverpool, England - 29 Dec 1904 Bathurst, NSW, Australia.
They had children - Isabella Jane 1856-1940, Mary Elizabeth 1858-1862, Hugh Leslie Smith 1861-1939, Mary Elizabeth 1864-1895, Colin McIvor 1867-1936, Catherine Harriette 1871-1949, Duncan 1874-1955. Catherine Harriette was my husbands g grandmother.
I think Colen 1768 - 1842 father was James 1729-1797.
