thanks Janette all I need to know is his place of birth if its nz its wrong person ---Chris

Hi Chris

It was the efforts of "ellipitt" (Elli) in sourcing the death notices for you, for this John and Elizabeth PARRY, that has enabled this search to be advanced.    :)

Given the other information posted here, relating to the birthplaces of the PARRY children (Idris and Gwyneth) .... registered at Birkenhead (boundary of Cheshire and Merseyside) in the years 1907 and 1908, it would seem very unlikely that their father, is the John PARRY you are seeking.   (Unlikely too that this man was born in New Zealand.)

I notice on another thread you stated that the John PARRY you were seeking had a child born in 1907 (at Anglesey, was it ?) and that he left his wife some years later ?

Hi Chris

Our posts crossed.   ;)

*   Can you clarify please, is this Hannah Davies PARRY (m. Hugh PARRY) ... actually related to the John you are looking for ?
(i.e.   is Hannah D. the sister of John PARRY ?? )

Hi Chris

Did you find your John PARRY on the 1911 census ?

*   Was he still living with his wife and family at that time ?

Hi lucy yes he left his wife approx 1913 she died 1915 in amlwch anglesey it is impossible to trace John as there is never enough proof that he is the right one we were just told that he had gone to NZ with a woman from the village but it may be a rumour it is not hannah d parry nothing fits except she was on same ship I have sent for birth cert for idris wynne parry to see where his father lived to rule out elizabeth parry and if that does not match Iwill call it a day Iv'e been looking for 2yrs on and off thanks for suggestions--- regards Chris

Hi, I came across these posts when searching the Web via Ancestry. I may be able to help. My great aunt (paternal grandfather's sister), Hannah Davies Parry married Hugh Griffith Parry (in Auckland, 2 Jan 1914). Hugh's brother was John Parry (b1876, Widnes, Lancs) who married Elizabeth Williams (b1877, Llanelidan, Denbighshire). They had 2 children, Idris Wynne (b24 Dec 1906, Birkenhead, Cheshire) & Gwyneth Aelwen (b18 Dec 1907, Birkenhead). Both John Parry & Hugh Griffith Parry were grocers & both emigrated to New Zealand. Hugh went alone 11 May 1912 (to Sydney initially), then Hannah followed with John on 28 Feb 1913 (to Auckland). John's wife, Elizabeth, & the 2 children left for Wellington, NZ on 1 Dec 1915. I have census records for Hugh & Hannah living in various places in NZ & know that they spent some time in Suva, Fiji. Both returned to the UK from Wellington, via New York, in 1944 & Hugh died in Rhyl, Denbighshire on 3 Feb 1952 & Hannah in Wrexham, Flintshire on 24 Nov 1965. Apart from 1 census record for Gwyneth Aelwen Parry at 626 Manakau Rd, Epsom, Auckland in 1935, I could find no records for John, Elizabeth & Idris other than those cited in in the Rootschat posts. I think Janette's post on 30/01/11 looks right (John d 8 May 1953 & Elizabeth 7 Jul 1935). I hope this helps. If anyone has more info on Idris & Gwyneth, I would be grateful. Thanks, John Parry
