I've got Derby 20/09/86
Kilkenny 16/12/1886
What looks like Duncannon 5/7/1887
Limerick 19/01/1888
The next one I struggle with the handwriting: I'll try to scan it in and see if anyone else can decipher it, looks to me like Lealie, but I really don't know 15/10/1888
Limerick 28/1/1889
Devonport 1/5/1889
Colchester 6/12/1891
Derby 27/10/1897

that is very very helpful thank you  :)

i had found a marriage in athlone in oct of 1884 that seemed right and now i can say it most probably is, i now also know he was with the first battlion.

it also helps me work out roughly when he left as in 1891 he is in lancashire as a labourer, so i knew he left between 1884 when he married and 1891. i would think looking at those dates he left the military about the same time as the battlion left ireland.

now all i have to do is work out why his wife was in athlone.
