Not if she was Mrs Jane Piercy (nee Dowie), which would explain her maiden name being Dowie on the baptism of William.

The original record of Williams baptism :

Wm Dowie Easton. Born: Dec 6th 1834. Baptized : Jany 4th 1835. Son of James Easton, Blacksmith, Oakwellgate, Gateshead, County of Durham.  Mothers Name and Ancestry : Jane Dowie.
