although the street name name does sound vaguely familiar, I cannot find any mention of Fanning place in street listings for 1894 or 1904.

Is the source of this a cert of some type ?
If so can you post the registration and sub-district details..

Someone on Rootschat went to the GRO and looked up information for me.  She found 3 records, 1 of the records she could not see what the address was.  That was for an 1891 birth.  The 1894 birth, is the birth with 4 Fanning Place.  The 1900 birth was 3 Bayleys Row.  She was confident it said 4 Fanning Place, but said she could not locate the street on a map.

Thanks!!

could it be Canning place by any chance ?

There is a street with that name in Dublin North City / Number 1 East

The only names beginning with F listed in the sub-district are :

Fagan's cottages, Fish St, Flood's buildings, Forbes Castle, Fortcrystal court & terrace, Foster place north, Frankford cottages & terrace, and French's terrace

here's the street on the 1901 census : Canning Place, North Dock DED

and on an old OSI map : Canning place, North Dublin

(select the 25" option to see the c1890s map)

Thanks Shane!!!  So it appears that the Street does not really exist today.  When I switch to the 1890 version, I can clearly see the Canning Place.   But when I switch to more recent maps it does not look like it is there.

Thanks for the help!
