Elizabeth Bell

Elizabeth Bell was married at Warkworth 2.12.1844 to Selby Douglas
I have the marriage
Her father is John Bell ,looking in familysearch.org I cannot find her birth
On the marriage certificate it gives underage  ,so I take it she was under 18years old

1881 census has her living at North Broomhill with husband Selby and their family aged 51

Any help please

She has her mother with the 1871 family.
her birthplace also varies when looking through.

Where is Amble?

Looks like Elizabeth Bell in 1851. She's a widow.

1881 gives her as aged 51 married to Selby, therefore born 1831.  Are you sure the marriage is definitely right in 1844 as she would have been 13 (but legal I think?) and Selby seems to be about 19.

taking her back 10 years to 1871 the birthdate still corrolates as 1831.  Her mother Elizabeth Bell Snr seems to be her and Selby with them in 1871, aged 81 years, so it seems we have John & Elizabeth as parents.

1861 gives her as 22, birth date would then be 1829, adding a couple of years

So we have Elizabeth and John the parents of Elizabeth Bell born Warkworth about 1828-30

If you see on 1881 census there is a granddaughter also Elizabeth Bell aged 3

This is another problem did Selbys wife have a baby
before marriage if not who is baby Elizabeth's mother ( unless she died in childbirth )also one of the Douglas girls must have had Barbara

I thought I had a funny family my husband has too

I was busy entering some more of this family into my family tree when my husband spoke to me and I clicked on delete of his father and lost quite a lot of the work I had entered in

So after dinner yesterday I had to start and enter all back in
It took me up to 10 o'clock last night

Pauline Amble is a small fishing town in North umberland on the east coast
I see you are from where some of my Monkhouse and Wraey family came from

I’m not sure whether you are still looking for this information but I had a few spare minutes at the records office and dug out the following from Warkworth baptisms

All to John and Elizabeth Bell of Amble, Blacksmith

Margt (or possibly Mary) 2/6/1822
Isabella    8/8/1824
Edward   19/3/1826
Isabella   23/8/1829
Robert   23/10/1831

No Elizabeth

The burials were on a different microfilm so I have no way of telling whether the first Isabella died but it is possible that the vicar wrote down Isabella instead of Elizabeth - it’s been done before. 

There were other Bell families showing up at the same time but I only looked for John and Elizabeth.
