I wonder if anyone has a list of people shot by the Black and Tans or British military in Carrick during the War of Independence.

Hi Rory
I am also looking into information about the Black and Tans in Carrick on suir. In our family we have heard that they killed a Cunningham on her doorstep while she was pregnant in Carrick but have yet to find any documented details of the incident.

I hope we can help one another or hear from others who may send us in the right direction.
Paul

I do not have anything positive to add to this thread,  but my own Mother who was born in 1904 and lived in Clogheen,  County Tipperary used to recite many epsodes of the bad behaviour of the B and T's in her area.
I know in her latter years (she died in 1988 in Manchester, UK).  any mention of the infamous ones would bring forward a diatribe of words that would embarrass even the most "open minded" of us.
In the presence of her memories,  she was not a happy bunny!

If the OP really wants to find the answer to the question, they will need to actually research the issue rather than rely on verbal stories which may, or may not, be true. Both sides in the War of Independence had the need to put out spin, and the spin of one side is as unreliable as the spin of the other.

Could I suggest that you take a subscription on http://www.irishnewsarchive.com/index.php which is expensive, but will give you all possible answers to your question with assiduous interrogation of their index. They cover among others, Irish Independent and Freemans Journal. The Irish Times requires a separate subscription if you want that.

Tipperary does suffer from not having much written about actions in War of Independence in published books, so Irish newspapers may be the only source open to you.
