Hi John
The Emeny's seemed to have genes for long living - my husband's great grandmother was an Emeny and she lived for 103 1/2 years!  She was a wonderful old lady and had four children.  I have a book on the Emeny's which is a mine of info.  She was  99 years older than our daughter (her great great grand daughter) - I thought she might arrive on Gt Gran's birthday but was 4 days later!  I am pretty sure all the Emeny's in NZ are related.
Cheers
Kina

Thanks Althea - the T.O.W.R.A.G.S. sound like an interesting bunch, too  ;D

I've found reference to photos at Alexander Turnbull of the three sisters on tour in Europe in 1960's.

Also there, is a book "The descendants of Jeremiah & Elizabeth Emeny and Abraham & Sarah Emeny" - which might be the book Kina refers to ???

My lot are descended from William George Emeny, which seems to be a different line, but likely related as Kina says.

Yes John, the book you mention is the one I have. There are 4 William George Emenys mentioned.  I notice that one drowned in Wellington Harbour.
Cheers

Thanks Kina. Yes, the one drowned 1894 was the father who emigrated to NZ about 1858.

Hello.
Julia Heffernan was my great grandmother. My grandmother was 92 when she attended Irene's 107th birthday party.
The Dominion Post 11th June 2005.
My grandmother was also Irene or Rene.
Hope that helps.
Darren.

Ahh! Thanks Althea.

I've found a marriage (1889) and death for Charles Thomas (1940), but only a Gazette entry for Charles Henry, Plasterer, his Military Call up 1917, and listing on Wellington Electoral Roll for 1919 (so he must have survived the War).

No sign of a birth registered for either of them, yet parents were here in 1859  ???.
Birth Calc for Charles Thomas would be 1869 (from age 71 on death record)

Charles Henry didn't fight WW1. He had poor vision, didn't pass the medical.
Hes mentioned on his mothers death notice 1953 but not his  fathers.
Looks like he died 1977 London.
