I would contact the local studies library at Halifax or the west yorks County archives as they are most likely to hold any extant records

Hi

I would try the Halifax local studies library but the Industrial Schools were sometimes used as another name for the orphanage and they were also used as a type of Borstal.
The Huddersfield Examiner had an article about the Huddersfield Industrial School and they entitled it School for Scoundrels, it was also called the Ragged School.

Hi Wolliter,
The Shibden industrial school, and the Lister family are well documented in West Yorkshire Archives Calderdale, Halifax.
The references to the school are many, but the one that seems of most interest is
SH:7/JN/B/46-47
Title  Shibden Industrial School, Southowram
Description  [Also known as School of the Good Shepherd]
Date  1871-1931
Extent  253 items
Subject  SCHOOLS
This is only available as original documents, if you are able to get to Halifax and examine the documents yourself it will be cheaper than having the archivist search them for you.
Regards,
Andy
