Wolliter
Did you ever find out who Michael's parents were?
1871 census has him as Michael Shearden in WELLINGTON YARD, Leeds with parents James Shearden,35, labourer born Co Mayo, Ireland and Mary aged 25, flax mill hand also born Co Mayo, with sister Cathrine, 7, also flax mill hand, (as was poor little Michael) and half sister, Bridget, 19, a cloth mill hand. All siblings born in Leeds.
