Quinney-Wheeler

Hi, i'm new to this site. I'm trying to trace my husband's paternal grandfather, Charles William Quinney-Wheeler. c 1885 - 1916. He married Rose Nott (B 1889 in Barnstaple), in 1912 in Glamorgan. They had 3 children, William Charles, Doris and Gladys. The Quinney reference seems to disappear before that. Any ideas?

March 1912 Newport, Monmouthshire Vol 11a, Page 302

Wheeler, Charles Q


Had a look for births, 1884-1886, but no Charles Q Wheeler anywhere.
Neither can I find a Charles Quinney anywhere!
There are a couple of Charles Quiney births.

Do you know where he was born?

March 1885, Cheltenham: Quiney, Charles Henry
June 1886, Birmingham: Qiney, Charles Henry


Finally, I can't find his death.
Where was he when he died?
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

thanks, i've been trying to get a connection through Rose Nott, have found lots about her family tree, but no other reference to charles. living family members havent been helpful so far, but there was a suggestion that there an english or irish connection. family rumour is that the name william charles was repeated in different order over several generations.

Do you have a copy of the 1912 marriage cert? If not, it may be worth your while getting one as it should give name & occupation for Charles' father.

Charles Q Wheeler age 24 born Coventry 1897  Ironworks Labourer?
Eliza Q Wheeler age 20 born Harwich, Essex
Charles Q Wheeler age 12 month born Builth Wells, Breconshire

Can only find William Wheeler born 1878 Coventry  :-\ but there's a Charles William Wheeler born 1863, which is quite a bit older than expected (not unusual in family history!)
