Francis David Foord, a builder married Sarah Ann Wall (born St Leonards, Sussex, England (St Mary Magdalen)) on 5 Jan 1885 ( probably at the same place. Her father John Wall and mother Mary Verrall are my maternal "n" great grandparents.
I have this line of Foord's tracked down to Australia.
I know two another Canadian genealogists who have specialised in these and related Foord's if you need their contacts off line.
The linkage to Coates is only by being in the same photo album in the 1930's in Pevensey.
The Foord's at that time in these photos were Aubrey Frank Foord; Frederick Walter Foord; Percival Wall Foord ; Herbert Wilfred Foord; Helena Daisy Foord; John Ewart Foord; and Gertrude Lilian Agnes Foord. Jack (John) was killed in France at age 19. Daisy married Rev Dr Sidney Earl; Lily married Aubrey Knight.
Another photo shows Dorothy Rose Foord nee Lyons. Dorothy was Jewish and she met and married Herbert Wilfred Foord in 1922. Roy Herbert was their only son, born 5th November 1928 with only one kidney and that one not working properly. He was always delicate and at age 14 he died. No dialysis nor transplants were available in those days. Later they adopted Wendy, from an eminent family, and Michael. Wendy married John Snell.
Frederick Walter Foord was father to Fred Foord(15th May 1926) who emigrated to Australia.
