The Ormondite Refuges; from Irelands Huguenots and Their Refuge 1662-1754 by Raymond Haven;
Protestant refugees from Ireland croweded into the town of Chester. Among them were; Thomas Sisson, stationer, and Charles and Gedeon Delaune, Dublin Huguenots who had eight children between them.

Instances of marriage unions between Huguenots and Anglophone Protestants similarly provides some indication. During the Ormondite era, seven (possibly nine) examples of exogamous marriage may be discerned; the Delaune, Desminieres, Boyer, La Marchant, Cerines and Harabin families are involved.

Throughtout the reign of James 1, and that of Charles 1 up to the Viceroyalty of Thomas Wentworth, Earl of Stafford (1633-41) traces of French Protestant immigration to Ireland are scant. Only five denizations of Frenchmen are recorded between 1601 and 1633;
Jacques Fouchier; 16 June 1615
Simon Everard and Jacques Channeau; 21 November 1623
Henri Delaune; 9 January 1628
Etienne Denis; merchant; 28 April 1628.

These are the only mentions of that name and the surname Delaney is not listed in the book.
