Emily BLUNDEN - look up please
« on: Sunday 16 January 11 18:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Apologies if I have put this in the wrong forum.

I have been looking for my great great aunt for quite a few years now. I last found her in the 1881 census in Kingston Surrey. However, as some of the family is was in Australia in the early 1900s I was wondering if they came to live with her and not the other way round. I have tried to look up on he internet but many sites now ask for a library card, which I can't get as I don't live in Australia.  I have found an Emily Blunden marry Thomas Stewart in 1889 in the district of Tamworth. I was wondering if that was her, also is there an Australian census for 1891 that could identify her as being born in 1860 in Kingston, Surrey, England. Having exhausted England I am now trying further afield. I would be grateful for any look up or advice.
Many thanks
Jan

Hello Jan
Do you have an age for Emily please, also names of parents. What do you know about the other people in this family who also came to Australia - arrival, names, locations please.

Hi Jan  :)

Is her full name Emily Louisa BLUNDEN?  If so, was she 8 years of age on the 1881 census living in Kingston, Surrey with parents William and Jane?

The 1889 marriage in NSW was for an Emily J BLUNDEN.

There is this marriage...

Hi Jan

I saw your interest in FAGENCE surname.

I have been trying to unravel my connection to Henry Fagence, a widower, who married Clara Emily Johnson in 1882.

Are these folks of any interest to you?

Regards

ozjan

Hi
Sorry I never got notification there were any replies. Emily's parents were Charles Blunden and Elizabeth (Graddage). She was born in 1860 in Kingston and in the last census she was working as a maid in Kingston to the Wilkinson family. Her father Charles died in 1863.  There was no close family living in Australia until 1902 when her nephew arrived in Sydney in 1901 and stayed there. I just can't find her after 1881 in the English census or find a marriage or burial for her.

Hello Jan,
My name is Jennifer and my mother was May Joyce Parker who is a decendent of Julia Blunden's daughter Mary Ann. I am from Australia.

I stumbled across your chat info and believe I may be able to assist your search and my own. My mother and sister lived in the original house "Wyreepi" in Epping NSW (Sydney) Australia - was originally 2 Dunlop Street Epping and then rezoned and numbered 3 Melrose Street Epping. I grew up in the house next door which was divided up from the original Wyreepi House block - us being number 1 Melrose Street.

Please contact me back as I am fairly certain that we are the Australian decendents you may be looking for to fill in the gaps. There is myself and my brother Garry and I am in the process of getting back in touch with Daisy May Parker and her children from her first marriage to Albert H Thomas Parker son of Albert H Thomas Parker and Mary Ann Blunden.
Love to hear from you to see if this can assist us both as I am keen to get the family tree information for my son and daughter and my little grandson as apart from Daisy's line there is no one else to speak to. Eva and Pamela comes up often in my search but I do not know their surnames but remember visiting them when I was little and believe them to be from the Blunden side (I think).

Have a lovely day - Jennifer
