hello michael
are you aware of the igi batch numbers it,s part of family search site just google igi batch numbers for suffolk and you,l get a list of parishes including nacton which i,ve looked at i presume you,ve found the son of your thomas and elizabeth bpt 8 may 1816  and died on 24 march 1822  again in nacton , as nacton,s so close to ipswich have a look in the parishes within the town st mathews in particular has a few weavers in it always worth a look also the non conformist records as well not everyone used the established church back then ,are your rellies a part of the weavers from sudbury suffolk as well ?

Hi Trevor.

Thanks for the reply, I have been on the IGI and found sons and daughters for the Thomas I am looking for, also actual d.o.b for him but no parents as yet. Your right Nacton is close to Ipswich will give it a go.There
is a good possibility that anyone with the surname weavers in Suffolk is part of my gang and have them in Sudbury. Hence my eagerness to link Thomas snr to my tree via his parents.
Cheers
Michael

Hi Michael

I am not sure if this will help, but from the Nacton Parish transcript 1757 - 1837:

Thomas Weaver ( Widower) married Elizabeth Little (Widow) 2 May 1809 Witnesses Robert Spall, Ruth Goldsmith, George Fox

Elizabeth Little's previous marriage is as follows Benjamin Little married  Elizabeth Sporle 9 August 1803 at Nacton Witnesses Robert Spall , George Fox.

Benjamin's Burial is recorded on 25 December 1803 age 28

Elizabeth Sporle was christened 22 August 1776, Mother Sarah and father Job Sporle.

Esther Weavers B 6 May 1809 Christened 15 October d.o Thomas and Elizabeth(Little) Widow
William Weavers B 13 March 1811 christened 17 march 1811 s.o. Thomas and Elizabeth (Little)
Thomas Weavers  Christened 8 May 1816
Mary Ann Weavers Christened 31 March 1818

I can find no record of Thomas Weaver in the Transcript of the Birth records for Nacton back to 1757

Kind regards

Dave

Hi Diddymiller

Got Thomas Weavers b abt 1780 off the IGI, although it is prone to mistakes, will take a look at the Chillisford 1777 one thanks.

dc 44,

Great bit of info, had no idea he was widowed gives me another avenue to pursue.

Thanks for all the replies Rootschat members come up trumps once again.

hi Michael - just checked the IGI. that is a submitted record and not extracted (from original) so suspect submitter has just knocked 20 years off the marriage date given.

Hi diddy,

Thanks for that, it mow looks like the 1777 from Chillesford is a good contender.
