Elaine, thank you so much for these details, I didn't realise you 'd used your own credits-much appreciated. What are the other names on the right-hand side? Are they names the person was known by, previous marriages etc?
I love your bagpiper! Hazel

Hi Hazel
The other names on the right are possibly maiden surnames or as you say names
that the person was known by
dont worry about the credits
I've had a lot of help from this site
and like to return the favours  :)

Hello

I see you are researching the family of John Robinson & Maggie Montford. I am helping my friend to trace her Scottish roots which obviously with the Robinson/Montford side, are also Irish. He is descended through Maggie (Margaret), the daughter of John Robinson & Maggie Montford and Maggie was b.1905 at Broxburn, Uphall parish, Midlothain, but you don't seem to mention (or know of?) her in your posts. Like you, we aren't aware of what became of the others - Maggie's siblings. You say some went to children's homes and some to relatives after Maggie Montford, their mother, left.  Maggie married 1926 in Scotland but her address was given as Lough connolly, Broughshane, though she lived in Scotland after her marriage.     I haven't been able to find the mother Maggie Montford's death in Scotland or ireland c.1961, under either name. You say James, her son, told you that she died in an accident around 1961? Is James' family still around?  Do you know what happened to the siblings of Maggie (b.1905)? You say you are in touch with James's family and Sarah's and that your own mother was (Isa)Bella?   Did they all go back to Broughshane?  Hopefully we can swap information.

thanks

Hello,

Is your friend a relative of mine I wonder and how closely is she descended from Margaret b.1905?  Also, under your name on RootsChat is
'Census information Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk'.  Are you connected to national archives?  I would like to know a bit more before I give out any detailed information about people who are still living, but I would like to help if I can.  That was my Auntie Margaret who was born in 1905; she had two sons known as Jimmy and Jackie, both deceased as far as I know. I keep in touch with and visited my late Uncle James Robinson's family a year or two ago. I also know of my late Auntie Mary, and Wilma's (Wilhelmina) relatives but am not in touch. My Auntie Sadie (Sarah) is also deceased and had no children. Just remind me where you saw the post with details about the childrens' home/relatives etc. I only know of the siblings after they married and had children, but not the interim or when their mother left.  I know they were still all living together in 1911 in Broxburn from the Census. My late mother (Isa)bella used to speak a lot about Northern Ireland as well as Broxburn so I wonder if the younger ones went back to there. Possibly their mother married again and it is under that name her death was recorded.  I have drawn a blank so far there too.
