Tudor Rees Phillips
« on: Thursday 13 January 11 08:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I am looking for information on my great uncle Tudor Rees Phillips(my grandfather Evan Oliver Phillip's brother)  born to Ellen Rees and David Phillips in Albion House, Cilfyndd on 26 June 1903, in the 1911 census they were living in 5 Bedw Road, Pontypridd and that seems to be where it ends, my mum thinks he married a Nellie, but is not sure and that is all she can remember, where to go next, I have no idea, can anyone help?

Thanks

A search of FreeBMD throws up some possibilities:

September qtr 1922, Carmarthen, vol 11a, page 2624
Tudor Phillips to Sarah Griffiths

September qtr 1936, Wrexham, vol 11b, page 597
Tudor R Phillips to Teresa M Chaloner

December qtr 1939, Pontypridd, vol 11a, page 1148
Tudor Phillips to Maisie M Davies

Thanks Kgarrad,  I purchased the certificate for the last one on the list but the father of Tudor was not David, I am reluctant to purchase another cert until I am sure, it gets expensive!  Thanks for looking though :)

Hello again.  On the 1901 census puts them at No 1 Bedw Terrace  Cilfynydd, Pontypridd. David Phillips head age 30 Colliery Fireman underground, Ellen  wife age 32, Janet daur age 6, David J  son age 3 and a half,  David Rees father in law age 71 retired shoemaker, Mary.  Rees mother in law age 70.  They look like the ones to me.  Good Luck

Thanks Ruchca, that is the wedding I am looking for, it didn't come up on A******y, that looks like it is the one, there doesn't appear to be all that many Tudor Rees's, so the chances are pretty good, another certificate hear I come :)

Have had some more leads, he  married twice, the second wife (after he was widowed) was called Brenda Thomas, married in 1953 in Wrexham, we believe they had one son possibly called (*) and they ran a pub in Wrexham, Tudor died  in 1968 still in Wrexham, I am presuming the son (*) would have been born in Wrexham, the only one I can find is a (*)Phillips, whose mother was a Thomas, (*) or of course he wasn't born in Wrexham, has any one any ideas? Thanks
