Adams, Charles Sherwood Need Help
« on: Friday 15 April 05 19:56 BST (UK) »
I live in USA, and have a roadblock on my GG Grandfather.
Charles Sherwood Adams born 31 Dec 1848, died 15 Oct 1913, I found a US Census form that showed his parents were born in England.  He was married to a Mary E. Jenkins, whose parents were also born in England.  I think the parents immigrated into New York, but I can find no link to get charles or Mary's parents name.  Just thought someone here might be able to help.
Thanks
San Adams USA

Hello and welcome to Rootschat!  :D

Do you know roughly when your ancestor moved to the US? This additional information may assist someone who will be able to help you.

Good luck with your research

Hi San,
A good first step towards finding the parents' names would be to search an earlier census record. Look for Charles in the 1850 or 1860 census when he would be still a child and
living with his parents. Perhaps you could request a look-up
on the Emigrants to USA board on this site. Someone with access to American census records may be able to help. In your query give as much info as you can about where he might have been living and anything you know about his parents. Include names of siblings if yoiu know them. This will make it easier for someone to find them.

HTH,
Carmela
