New Barricks - Limerick

Hello;
I have an ancestor who was stationed in Limerick in the early - mid 1860's with the 73rd Regiment of Foot. His name was William Higgins.
Does anyone know where these barricks stood, or even if they are still there?
Thanks for your help.

It is most likely the the New Barracks is the Sarsfield Barracks today.
Although there were other barracks in the city this was the only one that was refered to as the New Barracks.
Yes it is still standing and still in use today.
