SUSAN ROACH AND JOHN O'CONNOR TIPPERARY
« on: Wednesday 12 January 11 05:48 GMT (UK) »
Would anyone know of a marriage of Susan Roach & John O'Connor in Tipperary (both Catholic), it was probably in the 1820s.  Confirmed daughter is Ellen O'Connor who married Patrick Casey and migrated to Victoria Australia in 1853 eventually settling in Woodend, country Victoria.  Possible record Susan Roach born 1796 died 1886 both Tipperary.  Does anyone know anything about this record?  Patrick Casey was a bootmaker.  Any Irish details on Susan Roach, John O'Connor, Ellen O'Connor (c1828 Tipperary) or Patrick Casey would be big help.  Also Ellen and Patrick had a son, Jeremiah Walter, born c1850 in Tipperary and also a Margaret c1852, but she may have been born in England on the way to Australia.  All other children born Victoria. ???
Thanks, Sue

This is so long ago for both of you but here goes. I am trying to trace Thomas O' Connor/Connors born in Kilkenny in around 1849 and who ended up in Woodend Australia also. He married Catherine Hart and one of Catherine's sisters married a Casey. Catherine's parents were Edward and Catherine Hart who were born in Galway and Kings respectively. Do any of these names connect with you. Sharron

Hello :)
This maybe a connection. I have just been trying to do some of my family history and whilst searching for my Dumphy relations, I have discovered a John O'Connor born 1800 , Ballingarry, Tipperary Ireland with a Susan Roach . They had a son and a daughter. The son was called Michael O' Connor and he married a Nora Dumphy. they went on to have a son called Patrick  {might have had a daughter too} Patrick married a Margaret Mc Garth.

Hope this helps ;)
Michelle
