Hi Christine your inscription & photo

161   Erected by Old Scholars & Many Friends to the  Memory of
   William Paul BURNS village School Master at West Wemyss
   For nearly 50 years it goes on further about his achievements
   But the the face of the stone is so badly weathered can’t make
   It out.
   On base of stone their Grandson William Paul BURNS died       19.8.1956?
   Husband of Margaret CRYSTAL
   Small stone in front Agnes GRIEVE died 15.4.1916 age 57
   Husband James G BURNS died 29.7.19--? age 74

EW 2552 Alexander Corns & Agnes Barclay - my grandfathers brother & sister in law
EW 1551 Edward Gillan & Margaret Corns - grandfathers sister & brother in law

I would love to see the stones of the above mentioned. I have a marriage registration 1885 with William Cargill - Magdalene Burns and Williams mother is Isabella Cargill (daughter of a baker)  husband not mentioned.

Sorry to be a pest but could you post the headstone image referred to please?  I don't doubt your word, but I have Birth and Death Register pages for William and they show he was born 12 Jul 1887 and died 2 Feb 1956  :-\
