The closest Nancy baptised at St Keverne I can find is Nancy Pentecost, daughter of Richard and Anne baptised 29/12/1794.

Forget her, she died unmarried in 1834.

Poor thing ! R.I.P.

Hi all

Just found you.

There may have been another child to John and Nancy:

Emma Jenkin Bray
Jun q 1849
 Redruth
 9  293

It seems that the middle names from the birth reg is Jenkin and not Jenkins. Throughout the censuses Lazarus is Jenkin ,without the 's'. His probate is also Jenkin.

this looks like it may be related. There's a marriage in St Keverne of William Jenkin & Mary Tripcony 17/7/1791

http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/moreinfo.php?ID=302791&dbtype=marriages&formval=

The following year a baptism to William & Mary Tripcony of a daughter called Nancy

http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/moreinfo.php?ID=647549&dbtype=baptisms&formval=

Possible recording of wrong surname?

There is a Lazarus Tripcony in St Keverne who may be related and he's the only Lazarus in the parish at the time.

Hi,
    Re Nancy Jenkins,
Family search records show Thomas Martin married Nancy Jenkins 1st Jan 1825.
Records show births of
thomas (my gggf) Nancy (jnr) Elizabeth, mary.
Nancy Martin (jenkin (s)) as per census born St Keverne between 1791 and
1802 depending on which census you believe.
As there is no record of her being born in St Keverne and going by the age discrepansy, it is even possible she did not know wher she was born.
Nancy Martin (jnr) married John Bray and had several children
James named after john's father
Thomas Martin Bray named after Nancy's father
Lazarus Jenkin Bray, so where does this come from ????
Theoretically after Nancy Martin's (mother of Nancy Bray's) father or brother
I can find no record of Lazarus Jenkin that could be father of Nancy Martin.
There is a Lazarus jenkin 1861 Census age 46, location Vessel, so assume he was a mariner, born 1815 in Kea. Records show he married Sep 1862, Truro (near Kea) died Perranarworthal or Helston depending on which records to believe Dec 1862. Shows married life did not agree with him.
He was too young to be father of Nancy Martin (jenkins) but could have been son of Nancy's brother if he existed.
Regards
Peter Martin

Episode 3
Hi,
As I indicated in info to Carol  there was a William Jenkin who married a Mary Tripcony in St Keverne in 1792, with the only record of birth was a William Jenkin and Mary Tripcony having a son William in 1786 5 years before marriage, shame on them!!!!
There was a Nancy Tripcony born to William and Mary Tripcony 1792 St Keverne although I can find no marriage records, perhaps a mix up???
I found a Lazarus Jenkin marrying a Elinor Lloyd in Wales 1815, could have been father to Lazarus born abt 1815 Kea (mariner). That could mean they could have moved constantly.
As to Thomas Martin records it show in census, road surveyor, fancy name for road labourer, and they were constantly on the move. I will send info on Thomas Martin later, just in case you get bored with Jenkins
Thanks again
Peter
