Can't make out much on these, any help

Thanks for the suggestions, I think it is Thos Hutchinson - Crayford as ther is a Thomas Hutchinson, Carpet Manufacturer at Barns Cray, Crayford in the census.

Following the suggestions and looking at the 1871 census I found an Alfred Horsnaill, town councillor & coal merchant in Strood, so I think that is probably our man. Also found John H Spiller in Canonbury Park, North, Islington, a retired wine merchant, so I think that's another match.

Still no luck on Frederick, but I can't find a Fred Jaott (or variant) in the census

Hi folks, it is amazing what you can find just by googling - I am always on the hunt for my HORSNAILL family and guess what pops up.

On your list it is definately Alfred HORSNAILL, Strood, Agent.  He is my 3rd great-grandfather.

It is part of the Lathe of North Aylesford Licensing records from that year in the Medway City Archives at Strood (and available online through their website).  They also have loads of other local online records too if you are looking for relatives in the area.
