David BREWER & Rebecca INGREY Arrival
« on: Thursday 06 January 11 01:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

hit another wall and need some help on finding out when David Brewer & Rebecca Ingrey arrived in Australia and where from.

I haven't found any marriage certificates in Victoria, so the assumption is they were married before arriving.

David Brewer  born approx 1824, died 1898, Panmure, Victoria Australia
Rebecca Ingrey born approx 1825, died 1912, Victoria, Australia

Children

Henry  born 1849, died 1925
Charles born 1854, died 1936
Rebecca born 1856,
John born 1858, died 1879
William born 1860, died 1931
James born 1862, died 1936
Emma born 1864,
Maria born 1866, died 1929
Mary Ann , died 1887

I suspect their are other children lurking that haven't been identified as yet.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Michael.

Hi Michael

http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/indexes/index_search_results.asp

This looks like the arrival aboard the DUKE OF RICHMOND 4 Mar 1853 from London

BREWER David 28, Rebecca 27, Eliza 6, Henry 4, Mary Ann 3, Zacheus 1 (I think Zaccheus and the infant may be one and the same, but possible she had one on board.)

Cheers Kris  :)

Just to add to Kris's information about the infant and Zaccheus.  An unnamed male infant is listed with the family on page 55 as being born onboard.

On page 61 under "Deaths" is Zaccheus BREWER with an age of one.  Other children who died are listed as infants, so it may not be the same child. He died 6 November from mesenteric disease. http://householdphysician.com/chapter12.php?page=16

Having a look at UK BDM there is:

Births Jun 1851

BREWER    Zaccheris
Chesterton
Vol   14
