As I have posted in the Elmes of Rochestown, Old Ross, the Frizelles & Elmes family were indeed palatine refugees from Germany who were given Farm Lands in Old Ross area belonging to Lord Ram. Please Contact The Rector St. marys Church of Ireland, The Rectory, College Road, new Ross, Co. Wexford, who would keep the Parish registers for St. Marys church of Ireland ,Old Ross which would have been their place of worship. Also many palatine families were massacred at Scullabogue barn, during the 1798 rebellion. There is a monument to them in the grounds of St .Marys Church of Ireland, Old Ross which was erected in 1998. Lord Ram actually lived outside Gorey , Co. Wexford, but had a very large estate in the Old Ross area which was colonised by the Palatine families. A glance at the Old Ross parish registers shows the names Elmes, Frizelle, Hornick, Hess, Hartrick, intermarriage was common between these families.
