Hi! I am so pleased to have found this post! My name is Neil Thomas Frizelle. My farther is * Frizelle, son of Frank Frizelle, son of Thomas Frizelle married to Ameila Frizelle (nee Humphreys) My dads great uncle Nick was brother of Thomas and we have a famly tree dating back to the 17th, all of which mention two brothers who were hanged and some of the names and links are amazing. Though i havent got the tree here with me whilst i type, my parents have and we are very keen to discuss this further with you! Even the fact that Nick died 20 odd years ago and he was a historian and private tutor and he apparently had done a lot of research on the frizelle family name! There are two many things you say that cant be coincedence! As far as i was aware i was the last in the line of frizelle's until my wife and I had our first child, * Frizelle on the 29/01/2011, I would love to heare more from you and be in touch. My email is * please get in touch!

Thanks Neil I am sure we'll find some interesting connections in our trees.

I am also interested in the mention of the Scullabogue massacres in a previous post.
On our tree we have 2 brothers,Charles and Martin Frizelle  b 1772 & 3 who are described as being'hanged as rebels' in 1798 they also had a brother John b 1769 who married Eliz White and died in 1799 and next to his name on the tree is the word Scullabogue.

Any information gratefully received.

I should like to thank everyone who has responded.
I now have much more information on the Frizelle family that I anticipated and have found several living relations and connections.
One thing however continues to puzzle me. In the New Ross area of Wexford where the branch I am interested lived, it would seem that some of this, or very similar name were Catholics and others Protestant.
I now know that the origins could be Norman - would these be Catholic? or possibly Palatinate when they would be Protestant.
Can anyone explain this seeming anomaly?
thanks
