I hope someone can help i need to find some patient information but dont know where to start.
All i know if the name was Robert Walsh born 1919 in Chorlton. He was my dads brother and was sent there the family never spoke about it and as my dad has died i dont know where to start.
I do know he was later transferred to a Hospital in Radcliffe but not sure on the name or where.
Any info where i can start would be helpful
Thanks

Only one i can think of was " Florence Nightingale Hospital " in Radcliffe and is still there to this day, but not sure if they took mentally ill patients or just Infectious diseases ?

My husband's family come from Radcliffe . I have just spoken to my MIL who's in her eighties and she knows nothing of a mental hospital there.
There was however one at Radcliffe on Trent Notts., I think it was called Saxondale.
You may find more information on the Nottinghamshire boards.

The Florence Nightingale Hospital was just a little cottage hospital .

Any records for the above hospital and Prestwich hospital can be found at GMCR. They do a free ( now not sure if it is 15 or 30 min ) search.

Appartlently when they closed calderstones they moved residances back into the community. But that is all my mum knows

Not quite sure of the geography of that area, but Prestwich was a large hospital in that vicinity.
But it is likely that they have destroyed a large proportion of the records for that date, simply because of the space taken up by storage.

It might be worth you contacting Bury archives to see if they hold any records on Redbank?

What name and when did he die?

Also i am not sure you would be given much personal details of any inmate/patient with them dieing so soon. Think the hundred year rule applies here? but could be wrong?
