I am fairly new to tracing the family, and have only just found out about what will potentially be on the death certificate. I will arrange to purchase these through BDM Online from New Zealand and see what it contains.

The name Grizel is interesting as I have heard someone else in the family talk about the name Grizel as well, but did not know where or who it applied to. You may have solved a family mystery, so thankyou for that.

Hi all,

I have today ordered via NZ BDM online the death printouts for both William and Grace Cawley. So now its a wait and see what is contained within them and which way forward after that.

I will let you know what is contained within the documents.

Hi all,

I have some information from Grace Fishers death certificate:
Died 1890 age 64 (not sure this is correct)
Born Scotland in NZ approx 30 years, so arrived in NZ about 1860
Father James Fisher, farmer
Mother Ann Fisher nee Crombie
Married William Cawley 1865 in Dunedin New Zealand

Can anyone help with any further information?
