Hi, think I am correct in saying that one of the 'Who Do You Think You Are' programmes featured immigrant Italian ice cream makers (in Glasgow I seem to think) but the programme showed the process that was in use.

One of the other RC'ers might remember the subject of the programme and you could then 'catch-up'.

I am new to RC and haven't got a clue as to how to post a photo or send a private message. Can you please let me know.

Dimambro family. During WW2, my childhood home was in Langley Park and I was at the Johnston School in Durham when it was in town. I often visited the Dimambro family with my grandmother Olive Quick. There were obviously very old family links but as a youngster I never met any other Italian family.

The "Who do you think you are " which dealt with Italian ice cream families was Tamsin Outhwaite. From Wikipedia

"Her mother is of Italian heritage. Her maternal great grandfather Adelmo Santi and his eldest son Pietro Santi were born in Barga, Italy, and became naturalised British citizens in 1957, living first in Glasgow, Scotland, and then settling in Fishburn, Durham England running an ice cream business."
