Hi Ruth  can't see any headstones at that date he should have been buried
at Largo Church but there is no stone listed there in Mitchells MIs

FFH pre 1855 death Cd  gives
Lieutentant William Anderson died 30.4.1837 no age
Sailor Royal Navy
Husband of Agnes Sutherland
From Wills in Sheriff Court Fife Sc20-50-10

so it hay be worth checking the will.

see they had 2 sons & a daughter do you know who they married

I have his will and his death cert so am positive of the date.

His 2 sons -
William (I don't think every married) - b 1828, died Dec 1910 Barnyards, Fife
John Anderson  married Elizabeth Gould Murray - you have sent me their headstones from Newburn Cemetery
daughter Agnes Anderson married James Kinghorn and moved to North Leith Edinburgh
