I'm looking for a family of the above name in Liverpool in the latter 1800s. As you can imagine, the spelling is freestyle! Here's the info I have so far:
John HOUCHILD m Frances Ann Greenfield in 1848. John was a rigger, from Germany (Hamburg or Hanover?) and the family lived in the Toxteth area.
children, all on BMD as HOUCHILD:
Jane Elizabeth (1850 - 52)
Hannah Elizabeth 1853 -
Frances 1855 -
Jane 1858 -
Louisa 1861 -
William 1863 -
Ida 1867 -
Frances (mum) died 1871 and I have the family in the 1871 census (Houchild).
John remarried as Hauchildt to Susannah in 1880; they, with Ida, are in the 1881 census transcribed as Hiuschildt.
Ida HAUSCHILDT m August Denker in 1889 and emigrated to USA. Her father, John is in the 1891 census as a widow named KAUSCHILDT. His second wife died in 1885.
I can't find any of Ida's siblings after the 1871 census, dead or alive, single or married! Can anyone help?
thanks
