The wrong street
« on: Wednesday 29 December 10 23:10 GMT (UK) »
When I first started doing my family history, I got my grandfathers birth certificate. it was 1863 in 3 Farm street, London. Then I moved to the census, and looked up Farm street in all the census. I could not figure it out how it appered in some census, and not others! I even visited Farm street, but number 3 was not there anymore. The someone told me there was another Farm street, and it is now called Farmer street. I re checked the census, and I found that it was Farmer street that was the right address, and found my family. The house is still there, and I managed to get a picture of my grandads birth place. The moral of this story is check your addresses to make sure they are the right ones, experience is a good teacher.  :-[
