Thomas Laing, Police death record
« on: Wednesday 29 December 10 19:44 GMT (UK) »
Hello
My great grandfather was Thomas Laing, a police constable born 1891.  Married in Leslie in 1914 to Helen Wilson Duncan.
My question is that I was told by family members that my great grandfather, Thomas Laing died at a very young age and it was thought that he was killed during work as a police officer.  I cannot find any records of his death.  Is there any place that records officers killed in the line of duty?
I should mention he may of been working in Glasgow at the time, particularly in the Gorbals.

Thanks
Whyte, Bell, Laing and Duncan from Fife, Scotland
Scollon from Scotland and Ireland
Robertson from Glasgow, Scotland

A basic search on Scotlands People shows only 4 deaths for that name between 1915-1945 - it depends what people mean when they say he "died young"

I used a birthyear 1890 +-2yrs

As you will know his mothers maiden name - you could narrow it down further
