Looking to find family of Lily Walker born abt 1878 in Leeds. Married Charles Fredrick Tuke 1905. Children Florence Mary and Arnold.

There were quite a lot of Lily/Lilly/Lillie Walkers born in that area around 1878 and it would be very easy to guess at the wrong one. By playing around with the, free to search, 1911 census index on http://www.1911census.co.uk/ it is apparent that Lilly Tuke was not born in Leeds. Charles Fred Tuke and Florence Mary Tuke both appear when Leeds is specified as the birthplace but Lilly does not.

By trying each birthplace shown on earlier censuses for the various possible Lil* Walkers born in that area it is possible to ascertain that in 1911 the wife of Charles Fred Tuke and the mother of Florence Mary was shown to have been born at Darrington.

One Lil* Walker was born at Darrington in 1877 Q2 and another was born there in 1878 Q2, both registered at Pontefract.

The 1905 marriage certificate for Charles and Lillie would clarify exactly who her father was.

I would bet on it being William because it seems likely that the daughter of Thomas and Sarah married someone else. GF
