Looking to find the parents of my Great Grandfather Charles Robert Hides. Born in Sheffield abt 1858. Died 1915. ?? married Maude Mary Egglestone 1892.

Possible marriage of Charles Hides - from Sheffield and Rotherham Independant Sat 10 Nov 1855;

HIDES - TILDESLEY On Thursday last at the parish church Mr Charles Hides attorney's clerk, sixth son of the late Mr Robert Hides late of Hollis Croft table knife manufacturer to Mary, second daughter of Mr Wm Tildesley of St Thomas Street.

Report of legal case - Charles Hides brings a legal challenge in respect of his mother, Susannah Hides' will.  It is also noted by the other side that he had previously challenged his father's will.

I think this is likely to be the baptism of Charles (senior):

Hides, Charles (of Sheffield, born 1823-11-23).
Baptised December 28, 1823, by W H Bull at Sheffield Parish Church, Church Street, Sheffield.
Parents name(s) are Susanna & Robert (Haft Presser).

Susannah is in Red Hill in 1841 with several children though Robert is absent.
