Something a bit different for you to colour...
« on: Tuesday 28 December 10 09:52 GMT (UK) »
I hope this is allowed as it's not a photograph, if not, please accept my apologies!

I've made a montage of illustrations by my great great aunt Dorothy for my parents for Christmas & my wife was so impressed that she wants a similar montage for her birthday. My wife likes horses and although I have enough images, they are all pen and ink drawings, none coloured.

Could our famed colourists colour this picture as a centre-piece of my montage?

I have in mind a sort of water-colour effect, though of course I leave it to your imaginations. You don't need to keep the writing...

Thanks in advance.

I would imagine that this image would be copy righted by the publisher of the book that it came from .  :(

I would have assumed it was out of copyright - the book was published in 1929 and the artist died in October 1938.

The book is also freely available here.

Looking at the link it states, amongst other things -

"Possible copyright status: NOT_IN_COPYRIGHT"

So one would assume that you're OK to copy.

I'll take that as on Ok then.
I've tried to do it a bit watercolourish.
Queen's colours by the way.

Thanks, that's great.

(Wouldn't have known it's the Queen's colours)
