A common surname in Northern Ireland- McAleese, McLees, McAlees, McAlice, etc.
Do you have any particular name, dates and places?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for
some time
many years!

Sorry for delay in replying.
My great grandfather was Francis McAliece and this is all I know of him.
My grandfather was born on 13th July 1877 and was baptised the same day in St. Peter's Pro-Cathedral Belfast.
He was married on 2nd July 1902 to Sarah McKevitt in St Pauls Church Belfast.
My grandfathers address at that time was 11 Great Egleton Buildings and my grandmother's was 33 Malcomson Street.
When my father was born on 2nd October 1911 their address was 3 Dimmsdale Street
The street names may not be 100% accurate as they have been taken from handwritten documents.

This is him.
I took the spelling of my grandmother's name fro the marriage certificate, but my father's baptism record shows what looks like this spelling, McCAVITT

Elwyn Soutter and kingkerswell, please accept my sincere thanks for your help. The information you have provided is greatly appreciated.
From this foundation I hope to backtrack to find out if we are related to another McAliece family who emigrated to Australia during the 1850's.
This family was headed by Robert whose parents were Robert and Nancy ( Maners) McAliece. He was born 1809 in Belfast. He worked as a bleacher in a linen mill.
He married during 1829 to Catherine Crawford in Ballymena. They settled initially in Broughshane and between 1830 and 1854 they had 11 children the last 2 being born in Lisburn. It was from Lisburn that the whole family emigrated to Australia.
This information has all been obtained from a book 'Beyond The Crested Wave' which was published in 1997 by a descendent of the family.

Hi,
http://applications.proni.gov.uk/DCAL_PRONI_WillsCalendar/WillsSearchResults.aspx
The above link will take you to the Public Record Office where they have put two wills, taken from the will books, for Bernard McAliece , neither of whom may be related to you but which may be of interest.
Regards
EDIT Just enter the name on the appropiate boxes.
